Differential Steering Trainer
$429.00
Description
This 3D-printed desktop trainer provides students with a clear visual representation of how differential steering alters track speeds. By combining an electric drive system with a manual steering input, students directly control and observe track speed variations, turn radiuses, and counter-rotation in real time.
- Variable-Speed Electric Drive: Powered by a plug-in controller with a FWD/N/REV rocker switch and continuous speed knob for adjusting ground speed.
- Manual Steering Input: Integrated hand crank directly modulates steering input across the planetary gear set.
- Dynamic Turn Radius Demonstration:
- Large-radius gradual turns at low steering put speeds
- Pivot turns by holding one track stationary
- Zero-turn counter-rotation (turning on the spot) at high steering input speeds, relative to travel speed
- Undercarriage Mechanical Details: Demonstrates the functional role of the front equalizer bar and includes active spring-recoil mechanisms.
Optional Add-On: DC Electrical Breakout Box
Expand this trainer beyond mechanical gearing into electrical troubleshooting and signal analysis with the optional inline DC Breakout Box.
-
Simultaneous Testing Ports: Dedicated test terminals to connect two digital multimeters and an oscilloscope at the same time.
-
Measurable Parameters: Analyze V-DC, Duty Cycle percentage, and DC Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) drive waveforms as motor speed changes.
